Red Door

Red Door
by Julie Bu

“Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration.” – Charles Dickens

A house is not a home…

A house is colder…

A house can be a shelter for the body but not for the heart, not for the mind, not for the soul…

A house can be full of unwanted noise…

A house knows little about living in harmony…

A house is a place that doesn’t invite you to stay but leave any time you get the chance to go out and breathe some fresh air…

A house has boundaries…

A house doesn’t make you feel you belong to it…

Who says “house sweet house”? I bet no one…

“Home sweet home…” these are the words…

A home is a place where love is felt in the air…

A home is a place where you feel secure…

A home is a place where you feel comfortable…

A home is a place where you find peace…

A home is a place where you can be yourself…

A home is a place where you enjoy freedom of movement…

A home is a place where you can do whatever you want to do without giving any reasons…

A home is a place where no words are needed…

A home is a place where no schedules are set…

A home is a place where you can relax without going anywhere but your cozy bed…

A home is a place where you enjoy a cup of tea surrounded by the silence while you look through the window…

A home is a place where you want to go after having a hard day…

A home is a place where you can avoid all the external distractions…

A home is a place where friends can come in and go barefoot if they want to…

A home is a place where you display your personal taste…

A home is a place where the kitchen stove is waiting for you to cook delicious things any time of the day…

A home is a place where you can smell the melted butter, flowers, watermelon, cinnamon…

YES… a home is a place where every corner has been sprinkled with your own love, tenderness and dedication…

The Good Witch of the South was right when she said to Dorothy: “Close your eyes and tap your heels together three times and think to yourself: “There’s no place like home… there’s no place like home… there’s no place like home…”

There’s no place like home… home… home… hom… ho… h… …

Someone is knocking on my red door… Don’t wake me up until I give whoever it is a warm welcome… let me dream… someone is knocking on my red door…
