This is the time for long shadows
a shining path of stillness
There is truth in the way of dying
that we, like the tiger, can eat
or be eaten:
we can think in death
or live in life.
For what is death but the undressing
unveiling disintegrating of sinew, blood and bone
for a freshening, an opportunity, a cleansing,
a renewal.

  1. This short film really moved me. A few years ago our entire farm burned to the ground while we were away for the day and no one in our community called to tell us. Sometimes the windmills grow back and sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they just symbolize that the winds of change are leading you elsewhere.

    • Sad but beautiful story Sarah. Thanks for sharing. Michele and I hope that ALL your windmills grow back. Wherever the winds of change take you. Wherever you see yourself in the future. Your best vision for you. We support you.

  2. Happy New Year, Zen Of Water! : )

“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.” – Edith L. Pierce

    • Thank you Julie. Beautiful! 🙂

  3. Hi- Jane Galer here. I just want to say how honored I am to be quoted on your beautiful website. Thank you so much for reading my work and sharing it.

  4. Hi Jane,

So nice of you to write. We love your poetry. You have great talent. We wanted to show case that talent with our readers. The tricky part for me, was how many poems of yours to show? We want people to buy your poetry books. You have a lot to offer. But we don’t want to post all of your poetry. Wouldn’t seem right. Would you drop us a line letting us know which poems you recommend we post, and approximately how many? Sure would help. We are trying to be a constructive force and at the same time honor the work of the artist. Let me know your thoughts.

We love your writing. Great job!

    Thanks Jane,
    Drew Di Genova
