The Alchemy of Love

The film above is absolute visual poetry by Jamil Nabi

You come to us
from another world

From beyond the stars
and void of space.
Transcendent, Pure,
Of unimaginable beauty,
Bringing with you
the essence of love

You transform all
who are touched by you.
Mundane concerns,
troubles, and sorrows
dissolve in your presence,
Bringing joy
to ruler and ruled
To peasant and king

You bewilder us
with your grace.
All evils
transform into

You are the master alchemist.

You light the fire of love
in earth and sky
in heart and soul
of every being.

Through your love
existence and nonexistence merge.
All opposites unite.
All that is profane
becomes sacred again.

“This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet.”

Rumi was a Sufi poet, theologian and teacher who was born in Persia (now part of Afghanistan) and died in Konya (present-day Turkey). Rumi’s importance crosses cultural and national boundaries. He is known as Molana, Molavi, Mawlvi, Mawlana, meaning ‘our guide’ or ‘our master’ in Arabic and Persian, or Mevlana meaning ‘our guide’ in Turkish.

His major work is Masnavi-ye Manavi (Spiritual Couplets).

  1. Ah Rumi! Bursts the heart wide open every time. Try watching this gorgeously moving video put to the words of the great soul that was/is Rumi and endeavor not to be torn open! Just try! “Roar! – Lion of the heart! Tear me open.” Or as Rumi also said, “We have opened you”. It is what he sought and what he lived. Would that my life could be lived thusly. To open and facilitate opening. It is The All! “It’s ALL praise! And it’s ALL good!” Thank you Rumi and to you dear blogger of Truth and Beauty!
