I’ll Melt You in Fire

Winter in Hell
(above film)

Winter 2010, the stunning landscape of Iceland succumbs to the Arctic cold. Beaches and lakes get frozen, but something unexpected is going to happen… the earth shakes, warms up, and suddenly a big crack opens up at the top of the glacier Eyjafjallajokull. Lava, smoke, ash and fire come up from the depth of the earth, melting everything in its path.

“A mountain keeps an echo deep inside. That’s how I hold your voice.”

~ Rumi

I’ll Melt You in Fire

In the waters of purity, I melted like salt
Neither blasphemy, nor faith, nor conviction, nor
doubt remained.
In the center of my heart a star has appeared
And all the seven heavens have become lost in it.

Until you’ve found pain, you won’t reach the cure
Until you’ve given up life, you won’t unite with
the supreme soul
Until you’ve found fire inside yourself, like the Friend,
You won’t reach the spring of life, like Khezr.

In love, aside from sipping the wine of timelessness,
nothing else exists.
There is no reason for living except for giving one’s life.
I said, “First I know you, then I die.”
He said, “For the one who knows Me, there is no dying.”

You personify God’s message.
You reflect the King’s face.
There is nothing in the universe that you are not
Everything you want, look for it within yourself–
you are that.

~ Rumi

Featured Artist

Howard Jones is a freelance professional photographer based in
Salt Lake City, Utah. He enjoys creating in all genres of photography
including but not limited to architectural, portraiture, commercial,
and nature. When not making photographic images, for his clients,
in studio or on location, Howard’s appreciation for the solitude
and splendor of wilderness has created a deep love and affinity for
landscape photography. This pathos draws him like a siren to places
like the Florida Everglades, the Finger Lakes of New York, the wild,
pristine beaches and old-growth rainforests of Olympic National
Park in Washington, and Yosemite National Park in California. But
his favorite panoramic scenery remains the redrock cathedrals of the
Colorado Plateau and Moab, Utah which he intimately refers to as his
backyard.

The Tree of Awe

How does part of the world leave the world?
How can wetness leave water?

Don’t try to put out a fire by throwing on
more fire. Don’t wash a wound with blood.

No matter how fast you run, your shadow
more than keeps up. Sometimes it’s in front.
Only full, overhead sun diminishes your shadow.

But that shadow has been serving you.
What hurts you blesses you.

Darkness is your candle.
Your boundaries are your quest.

I can explain this, but it would break the glass cover
on your heart, and there is no fixing that.

You must have shadow and light source both.
Listen, and lay your head under the tree of awe.

When from that tree, feathers and wings
sprout on your soul, be quieter than a dove.
Don’t open your mouth for even a cooooo.

~ Rumi

  8. It’s fantastic to see Howard’s work catching on. I have been his #1 fan since his first image. He has done countless work for me and my family in the last three years, and did a special shoot at
the Sundance Film Festival, resulting in many beautiful shots of me with one becoming a promotional poster with an “Andy Worhall” effect. As a professional Jazz singer, his work of me has been placed in advertising for my shows. He definitely brings out the “Diva” in me! Family sessions are priceless as he captures the heart of each of my family members so brilliantly.
A session with Howard Jones Photography is a must for those who want the best light of themselves, family, experiences they want to document with most believability, and art to enhance your walls, that evoke a myriad of emotions each time it is viewed.
Howard Jones Photography, unprecedented talent, and a wonderful and kind human who sees what most miss.
Congrats to Howard! Don’t miss this opportunity to work with him, while he is still available!
