The Place Where the Light Enters You
“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”
― Rumi
My take:
Our first instinct is to push away painful experiences. But can they be hidden gold? Are we being given meaningless suffering? Or are we being given opportunity in disguise? When we are able to be present with our flaws. We crack open the opportunity for new light and connection. Connection with other. But most of all connection with our true self. Awareness opens a whole, a chance for cultivating more kindness Through some wounds we are actually having a chance at becoming a more refined human. If we can let go of the afflictive emotions around the wound. And let go to our deadly grip in life. Clutching to all our greed. Our craving. Then letting go can be the beginning of a crack that lets the light in.
“Letting go is the lesson. Letting go is always the lesson. Have you ever noticed how much of our agony is all tied up with craving and loss?” ― Susan Gordon Lydon, The Knitting Sutra: Craft as a Spiritual Practice
