Pieces of a Cloud

Pieces of a Cloud

This is how I would die into the love I have for you: as pieces of cloud dissolve in sunlight. ~Rumi

The french alps at Barcelonnette France

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky. ~Rabindranath Tagore

Sun shines in the center of the sky.
All things turn their faces toward the light.~Lao Tzu

All things in this life depend on direction. In our world, all is oriented toward the sun; The planets revolve around it, the seasons depend upon it, and our very concept of night and day is tied to the sun’s rising and setting. The sun is the dominant element in our lives … [yet] there is no center except for that in our own consciousness. ~Deng Ming-Dao

My take:
Our own consciousness is the true center. The flame of truth burns bright in our hearts. Like the sun. Truth centers itself in our lives and refuses to leave till we understand. An understanding that is not just on the surface but deep down inside the very soul of our being. It is an invitation to stay connected with the warmth and truth of our wisdom, of our experiences. Letting confusion in is like allowing clouds to obscure the sun. Being connected to the truth of our purpose is like letting the sun burn bright in our hearts. There is no stopping us once we connect with our soul. We burn bright when we are connected with truth and each other. Lets share our truths and warm each others hearts, floating into each others lives only to add color to the sunset of our skies.

About the location: Barcelonnette France

The city is mainly a tourist and resort centre, serving many ski lodges. The Pra Loup resort is 7 km from Barcelonnette. The Ubaye Valley has an Alpine climate and winters are harsh as a result of the altitude, but there are only light winds as a result of the relief. There are on average almost 300 days of sun. Barcelonnette is near Nice. Nice is well known for the beautiful view on the Promenade des Anglais, its famous waterfront, and is an ethnically diverse port city. For views of Nice the best vantage point is the heights of Mont Boron. From the derelict old Fort and the nearby villa of Sir Elton John there are fine views over the city to the mountains and east over Villefranche and Cap Ferat.

  1. I really enjoyed this. It’s funny, as I read the Deng Ming-Dao quote I felt something very different . I felt that that within our consciousness there was no room for ego; that we are all part of a greater whole. We all revolve around the central light. Yet somehow, your understanding led back to a similar place from a completely different angle. Thank you for sharing.

  2. I enjoyed your point of view Sarah. I totally understand and agree that ego can be our biggest obstacle to getting in touch with our core being. But when you let go, let go of ego, as you say, your feel the whole. The wonderful mystery of it all. And by magic, your are connected to self and other. Really enjoyed reading your comment.
